So its the day before the first game of the season and i wanted to address all the haters on the yankees. It makes me laugh when everyone is saying the yanks wont make the postseason. Last year our problem was pitching and now its our offense. It seems like everyone lets their yank haterness take over their analysis of the Yanks. But no bias look at the starting rotation, easily top 3 in baseball and the bullpen is good enough to not let them down. Yes the offense is a little weak compared to old yankee teams, but everything went wrong last season. Both Jeter and Cano had a slow start and i don't think that will happen again. Matsui and Posada are back, the only injury that will hurt is AROD. But he will be back in May and the season is won in august so thats not a big problem. Look at the Phillies their offense was not the best same with tampa bay, they just had good pitching. Now we have better pitching and good enough offense, so i don't get why everyone sees us missing the playoffs.
I see both boston and tampa bay having not as good of a season as last year. I think boston players had career years and I don't see them repeating. Tampa Bay might be just as good but i feel like the league knows who they are now and wont be surprised by them. In the end I think its a tight race, and everyone shouldn't count out the Yankees.
