The year of the Yanks

So its the day before the first game of the season and i wanted to address all the haters on the yankees. It makes me laugh when everyone is saying the yanks wont make the postseason. Last year our problem was pitching and now its our offense. It seems like everyone lets their yank haterness take over their analysis of the Yanks.  But no bias look at the starting rotation, easily top 3 in baseball and the bullpen is good enough to not let them down. Yes the offense is a little weak compared to old yankee teams, but everything went wrong last season. Both Jeter and Cano had a slow start and i don't think that will happen again. Matsui and Posada are back, the only injury that will hurt is AROD. But he will be back in May and the season is won in august so thats not a big problem. Look at the Phillies their offense was not the best same with tampa bay, they just had good pitching. Now we have better pitching and good enough offense, so i don't get why everyone sees us missing the playoffs.

I see both boston and tampa bay having not as good of a season as last year. I think boston players had career years and I don't see them repeating. Tampa Bay might be just as good but i feel like the league knows who they are now and wont be surprised by them. In the end I think its a tight race, and everyone shouldn't count out the Yankees.

  1. I think the Yankees will improve but they are old and the offense is old and without AROD they will be hurting alot. Boston have improved their rotation as well so beware.

  2. A-Rod is not as big of a loss as everyone thinks. The Yankees now have Mark Teixeira who can fill the A-Rod void for the time he is out. For those who closely follow the Yankees, the first 6-7 weeks of the 2008 season, Jason Giambi batted .191, and Cody Ransom, who's filling in for the injured A-Rod, will not have to tear the cover off the ball for the Yankees to have great success. In the same time frame, Robinson Cano batted around .200, and although he may have a slow start has he's notorious for, even if he hits .250 or .260, the Yankees will have a stronger offense than they did this time last year. On a side note, Alex Rodriguez did miss around 30 games last year and the Yankees still won 89 games.

  4. ARod will be back at the end of April, and he won't miss as much as people originally thought. Additionally, Cody Ransom can jump 60 inches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7XZX946hWI
